About The Position

This position is for an Aircraft Structural Mechanic III with Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Lexington, KY. The team is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and optimal functionality of aircraft through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, conducting structural maintenance and repair services, in support of Special Operations Forces Rotary Wing Platforms. As the Aircraft Structural Mechanic III, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the airworthiness and optimal functionality of H‑6, H‑60, and H‑47 aircraft. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and repair, component repair and replacement, inspections and tests, and technical documentation. This senior level role leads complex unscheduled repairs, oversees large scale depot modifications, and mentors Level II and Level I Mechanics. This position supports the Special Operations Forces – Global Logistics Support Services contract, which provides a wide range of tailored logistics, maintenance, and sustainment services.

Requirements

  • Proficient in safe jacking, towing, and positioning of rotary‑wing aircraft for structural work
  • Ability to accurately record repairs, inspections, and modifications in maintenance logs, modification and production instructions, and military documentation systems
  • Demonstrated track record of verifying work against stringent airworthiness and safety standards
  • Competent performing structural repairs in both depot and flight line environments with a focus on high tempo operations
  • Experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams, allocating tasks, and ensuring safety compliance
  • Must possess or be eligible for Secret clearance (or higher) as required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • A company‑sponsored interim Secret clearance is required to start

Nice To Haves

  • Specific / Adjacent Aircraft Experience: CH/MH-47, UH/MH-60, MD-500 / AH/MH-6, AH-64, OH-58D, or other Service Rotary Wing assets
  • Expertise in performing troubleshooting, inspections, dimensional checks, repairing, and overhauling components
  • Mastery of precision sheet metal fabrication, high strength riveting, composite layup, and structural bonding
  • Proven ability to lead Level II and I Mechanics
  • FAA A&P license, DoD Certification, or equivalent military qualifications preferred

  • Approving riveting, fastening, bonding, composite, and precision welding processes
  • Providing oversight to fabrication, installation, and replacement of sheet metal and composite panels, fairings, and structural components
  • Ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, service bulletins, and technical orders
  • Developing training curricula
  • Providing feedback on performance to management
  • Interfacing with design engineers, test engineers, and program managers on modification projects
  • Developing work packages

  • Tracking budgetary constraints for large scale repairs
