The Aircraft Structural Design Engineer 2 performs engineering work related to investigating and solving technical problems associated with the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft. The role helps develop and sustain the structural definition of aircraft parts and assemblies, supporting both new product development and improvements to the existing fleet. It defines part and assembly form, fit, and function; integrates systems; and selects appropriate materials, processes, and finishes. The engineer creates and supports 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and other design definition needed for manufacturing. The work involves solving structural engineering problems, supporting aircraft build activities, participating in design reviews, coordinating with suppliers, and preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations. The engineer collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, program, supplier, and customer-support teams to deliver designs that meet safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer requirements. The position works under general supervision on routine tasks of minor complexity, applying judgment and established practices to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. It may involve a complex engineering assignment or a full project of lesser complexity. Appropriate supervisor approvals are required for work accuracy and adequacy. The position is onsite in Savannah, Georgia, with up to 25% travel, and is a first-shift, full-time role.
