About The Position

Ready to help maintain the accuracy and integrity of the records that support Southwest’s fleet? As an Aircraft Records Specialist, you will provide critical support to Maintenance Teams by managing real-time operational issues, ensuring component control accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of aircraft and component records. You will perform data corrections, validate incoming component documentation, and manage part tracking records and imaging activities in compliance with regulatory requirements. In this role, you will serve as a resource and mentor to Aircraft Records Team Members while partnering with Maintenance and operational stakeholders to resolve record discrepancies and protect the accuracy of aircraft life-limited part data. Your work will directly support regulatory compliance, fleet reliability, and the safe operation of Southwest’s aircraft. Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX headquarters facility during business hours. Requirements

• Ability to learn, gain knowledge, and understand aircraft systems, aircraft maintenance, MPM procedures and Records training procedures or entry level knowledge of a record and retention tracking system
• Ability to learn and gain knowledge of MPM procedures and internal guidance to perform role successfully and timely
• Ability to facilitate phone calls and requests and determine what the need is.
• Ability to relay the content of the request to a Sr Specialist or above if necessary
• Skilled in Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Skilled in task organization with attention to details
• Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in: Inventory tracking systems, electronic filing and research, and departmental training procedures
• Using an integrated aircraft maintenance data collection and tracking system, or an equivalent 14 CFR 121 Air Carrier, Aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer, airline industry supplier or vendor, or similar industry where record-keeping is essential
• Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
• Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
• Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime
• Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information
• Ability to work extended hours as needed

Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource for real-time resolution of operational issues including but not limited to: error correction in CDCS for locked aircraft, incorrect part removal, incorrect serial number removal, removed part not matching inventory, manufacturer serial number not matching inventory, inventory not in system, part/serial installed on different aircraft, unserviceable inventory
• Coordinates with other Records Teams to escalate unresolved requests to appropriate team for timely resolutions based on needed expertise or authority
• Assists with research and document gathering with Fleet Transactions for lease returns, retirements, or scrapped aircraft.
• Assists with testing new Technology software updates for functionality and guidance in developing training materials
• Reviews reports for missing paperwork from Maintenix to upload into SIS/Airvault in order to manage the solution and correction
• May be called upon to complete high level/sensitive projects or research for the Imaging Team
• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
