About The Position

This role involves leading aircraft maintenance teams, performing inspections, and managing scheduled/unscheduled maintenance. The individual will supervise mechanics, provide technical guidance, and perform complex repairs on aircraft structures, components, and engines. This includes troubleshooting, interpreting technical data like blueprints and manuals, and utilizing specialized aircraft tools. The position requires excellent organizational skills to meet aircraft delivery schedules, making log entries, and guiding technicians through modifications and maintenance. The role also demands a thorough understanding of technical directives, NAMP programs, and basic supply procedures, along with expertise in coordinating aircraft maintenance and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • 8 years current or previous experience in controlling daily aircraft maintenance in support of squadron operations on MH-R/S helicopters.
  • Experience as a Maintenance Control Advisor knowledgeable and able to assist in coordinating maintenance efforts required to meet the daily flight schedule.
  • Experience advising the customer on releasing aircraft safe for flight, assigned project/priority codes, recommended cannibalization actions, reviewed aircraft discrepancy books for recommending aircraft safe for flight, and meet established timeline goals for phase and special inspections.
  • Individual (I) Aircraft Maintenance Qualification.
  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Weekend shift as required.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule Mon-Fri, Sun-Thur and Fri-Mon as required.
  • Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Satisfactory completion of T3/T3R National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI) resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance shall be required of employees assigned to perform: Maintaining MH-60S Avionics Systems.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools.
  • Must have dexterity to handle small parts.
  • Shall have the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems.
  • Shall be able to perform general Organizational, Intermediate and Depot Level maintenance.
  • Must possess one or more of the specialties of the assigned aircraft: Airframe/Structures, Blade/Pylon Fold, Power Plants and related Sub-Systems, Fuel and Air Systems, Rotor Systems, Avionics/Electrical and related Sub-systems.
  • Must be knowledgeable of technical directives, NAMP programs, and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
  • Shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy, and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance.
  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications.
  • Thorough working knowledge of aircraft maintenance records.
  • Working understanding of the aircraft and aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance.
  • Supervises subordinate mechanics and provides technical guidance on maintenance operations.
  • Performs, supervises, and inspects the duties of other Mechanics.
  • Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data.
  • Determines functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
  • Provides technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
  • Prioritizes workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Makes entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in various aircraft systems.
  • Performs general Organizational, Intermediate and Depot Level maintenance.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned MH-60s aircraft.
  • Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, surface finish removal, corrosion control, preservation/depreservation services.
  • Performs Maintenance Control planning and management.
  • Documents aircraft maintenance actions via logs, records, forms, and electronic means.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Uses hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment, and sets kits and outfits (SKO).
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, military technical manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, blueprints, manufacturers’ drawings, and other specifications.
  • Performs confined space operations to include fuel cell entry.
  • Operates and inspects Support Equipment (SE).
  • Performs aircraft inspections.
  • Performs aircraft movement.
  • Provides support services.
  • Performs corrosion control.
  • Performs preservation and depreservation.
  • Performs general aircraft maintenance.
