About The Position

Under moderate supervision, the Aircraft Paralegal assists the Aviation practice with projects related to the aviation industry. As a member of a professional support staff team, this position will also promote and maintain the goodwill and reputation of the Firm and maintain the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality.

Requirements

• High School diploma or the equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of legal experience preferred.
• Skilled with MS Office Suite and other office products.
• Basic understanding of KYC / AML procedures, compliance, corporate ownership and structure.
• Strong online research and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly document research findings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to conduct research to learn new tasks.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain work lists, organize documents, and monitor deadlines and filings.
• Ability to ask questions, clarify issues, and provide project updates as needed.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (comprehension & expression).
• Strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style.
• Detail-oriented and ability to create, compose, proof and edit correspondence.
• Possess sense of initiative and responsibility to manage case load and maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment and maintain case/trial deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence on domestic and foreign companies and individuals in connection with aviation escrow matters
• Basic knowledge and/or background in review of corporate documents both foreign and domestic including various forms of corporate documents, shareholder registers, organizational charts, government issued identification and other supporting KYC documentation
• Research corporate ownership structures to identify ultimate beneficial owners, directors, officers and other principals
• Perform screening against OFAC, BIS and other applicable US sanctions and restricted-party lists
• Conduct adverse media research
• Maintain accurate, complete and organized KYC / compliance files
