The CBP Aircraft Mechanic maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. They maintain and repair aircraft components including, but not limited to, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. This role involves applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operational status. The mechanic will interpret technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals to solve moderate to complex problems. Responsibilities include performing daily, flight line, and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft, as well as conducting inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on aircraft systems. The role may occasionally involve leading teams through complex aircraft-related tasks and making entries in aircraft logs and records. The ability to prioritize workload schedules on assigned projects is essential.
