About The Position

The incumbent is responsible to service, troubleshoot, repair and inspect aircraft to ensure airworthiness. This role involves performing maintenance on Ground Support equipment, preflight/post-flight turnaround inspections and servicing, and maintaining aircraft logbooks and historical data. The position requires compliance with safety, foreign object damage, and tool control program requirements, as well as washing, waxing, cleaning, and maintaining the exterior and interior of aircraft. The Aircraft Mechanic serves as a point of contact with the Quality Assurance Representative and advises management of problems that may delay scheduled delivery of aircraft. They ensure materials issued for assigned tasks are correct and provide on-the-job training to new employees. Additionally, they assist with supervision and inspect maintenance performed by FAA-certified and non-certified personnel, service oxygen, nitrogen, tires, oil, and hydraulic systems, and perform Corrosion Control checks. The role also includes greeting visitors and clients, exhibiting positive courteous behavior, and assisting coworkers. All safety procedures and practices established by the Company and regulatory bodies must be followed.

Requirements

Graduation from a standard four (4) year high school or equivalent (GED)
Two (2) years of experience in work directly related to aircraft maintenance.
A & P License
Sufficient aviation maintenance hand tools to perform routine Airframe and Powerplant duties
Ability to understand and use the English language both oral and written to communicate information or ideas to another person or persons
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Ability to recognize or identify the existence of a problem as well as elements of a problem
Ability to perform a task in the presence of distracting stimulation or under monotonous conditions without significant loss of thought process and efficiency
Ability to perceive and feel such attributes of objects and materials as size, shape, temperature, or texture
Ability to operate hand and power tools
Ability to travel worldwide with limited notice
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Ability to obtain a passport and/or visa
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics of aircraft instrument/electronic components
Ability to recognize from schematics and drawing not only how one assembly functions but also how various assemblies interact with each other
Knowledge of databases sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position
Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal repair and component repair
Knowledge of instrument, electronic and electrical test equipment
Knowledge of military or commercial aviation maintenance and its terminology
Knowledge of U.S. government regulations for federal contractors and FAA maintenance programs

Responsibilities

Inspects and certifies aircraft at specific intervals as required by OEM and FAA.
Troubleshoots system malfunctions, performs necessary corrective actions.
Documents maintenance of aircraft on appropriate forms.
Removes and replaces defective components.
Complies with Service Bulletins, Instructions, and Airworthiness Directives as directed.
Performs maintenance on Ground Support equipment.
Performs preflight/post-flight turnaround inspections and servicing when required.
Maintains aircraft logbooks and historical data as required.
Complies with safety, foreign object damage, and tool control program requirements.
Washes, waxes, clean and maintains exterior and interior of aircraft.
Serves as a point of contact with the Quality Assurance Representative.
Advises management of problems that may delay scheduled delivery of aircraft to the customer.
Ensures materials issued for assigned tasks are the correct items to repair the problem.
Provides on-the-job training to new employees as required.
Assists with supervision and inspects maintenance performed by FAA-certified and non-certified personnel.
Services oxygen, nitrogen, tires, oil, and hydraulic systems.
Performs Corrosion Control checks when required.
Greets visitors and clients.
Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers businesses and coworkers.
Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company and regulatory bodies.
