The CBP Aircraft Mechanic maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. They maintain and repair aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. This role involves applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, restoring equipment to operational condition. The mechanic will interpret technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer's manuals to solve complex problems. Responsibilities include performing daily, flight line, and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft, as well as conducting inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on aircraft systems. The position requires the mechanic to furnish their own hand tools, while special tools and test equipment will be provided. There may be opportunities to lead teams on complex tasks and make entries in aircraft logs and records. The role demands the ability to prioritize workload schedules and meet deadlines.
