About The Position

Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul aircraft engines and assemblies, such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Includes helicopter and aircraft engine specialists. This role performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft airframe, ordnance, egress/life support system, power plants, corrosion control and painting, and related systems. The mechanic will perform flight line essential services as directed by the daily Flight Schedule. This position involves maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, ordnance systems, egress systems, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. It also includes maintaining and repairing aircraft components such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, aviation ordnance systems, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applying technical knowledge of airframe, ordnance, and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operational status. Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required, and routine ordnance loading will require team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds per team member, in accordance with standard USN procedures. The role holder shall have the authority to direct Level I or II work center personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions and provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. The position requires applying professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in USN/USMC/USCG O-Level maintenance in the specific T/M hired to maintain, relating to structural repairs, hydraulics, egress, ordnance or power plants/related systems.
  • Three years T/M experience within the last seven years.
  • Current state Driver’s License.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completed the appropriate T/M/S Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in airframe, ordnance, egress, hydraulic, power plants and related systems or USMC, USCG equivalent.
  • Aviation Ordnance candidates experience shall be minimum 10 years O-Level experience.
  • Experience as T/M/S aircraft CDI, CDQAR, is required.
  • Must have been released from military service with an Honorable Discharge.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Airframes and Power Plant Certified Inspector Certified Candidates may not need to meet the qualifications listed.
  • Specialized training courses are desirable.
