About The Position

Performs Organizational and Intermediate level maintenance functions supporting C-130J, HH-60G, HH-60W, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and Support Equipment (SE) performing Corrosion Prevention, Wash, Modification and Repair Maintenance at Patrick SFB in accordance with the Air Force Aviation Maintenance Programs, applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements. This is a mid-level aircraft mechanic role supporting C-130J, HH-60G, HH-60W, AGE, and SE maintenance operations. The role requires designing, repairing, modifying, and fabricating aircraft, metal, plastic, composite, advanced composite, low observables, and bonded structural parts and components. It involves applying preservative treatments, assembling structural parts, assessing damage, advising on repairs, and inspecting structures to determine operational status. The mechanic will use metalworking equipment, fabricate and repair tubing and cable assemblies, maintain tools, and handle hazardous waste according to environmental standards. This mechanic may also issue tools in the absence of a supply technician.

Requirements

2 years of experience working on HH60G or HC130J aircraft.
Secret clearance
Red X Signoff Qualified
Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as required.
Knowledge of aircraft construction features.
Knowledge of identification and characteristics of aerospace materials.
Knowledge of repair of metal, tubing, cable, plastic, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite structural components.
Knowledge of shop drawing and sheet metal layout techniques.
Knowledge of shop mathematics.
Knowledge of corrosion identification, removal, repair, and prevention.
Knowledge of cleaning of metals.
Knowledge of application of protective coatings, low observable materials, and markings.
Knowledge of proper use, mixing, and storage of acids, solvents, alcohol, caustics, primers, and paints.
Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical principles of aircraft systems.
Knowledge of ground support equipment required to perform modification of the aircraft.
Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.

Nice To Haves

Four years total sheet metal experience and two years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) in USAF aircraft maintenance support as a sheet metal mechanic.
Skill to remove and replace aircraft parts and accessories/components.
Skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.
Experience in performing or supervising functions such as fabricating, repairing, assembling, or installing aircraft metals, plastics, fiberglass, composites, or honeycomb parts; or corrosion identification, removal, and applying coatings and markings is highly desirable.
5 years or more experience working on HH60G or HC130J aircraft preferred.

Responsibilities

Support maintenance on C-130J, HH-60G, HH-60W, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and Support Equipment (SE) performing Corrosion Prevention, Wash, Modification and Repair Maintenance for the 920th Rescue Wing on all scheduled and assigned aircraft, including C-130, HH-60 Series aircraft, AGE or support equipment.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including repair of delayed discrepancies.
Inspect and repair structural components, both on and off the aircraft, utilizing metal, plastic, and advanced composite materials within the scope and qualification.
Utilize all applicable technical documentation in the performance of all tasks and document discrepancies identified, parts ordered, and maintenance tasks completed in Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Document aircraft maintenance actions via logs, records, forms, and electronic means.
Operate and inspect Support Equipment (SE).
Perform aircraft inspections.
Perform Corrosion Control/Aircraft Painting.
Perform general aircraft maintenance.
Ensure Technical Directive compliance and modifications.
Manage Tool Control Program, including tool issue/receipt supporting aircraft maintenance shops, hazardous materials, and tool room/box/pouch configuration.
Maintain Aircraft, Engines, and SE Logbooks.
Perform Aircraft Wash and Lube.
Perform other duties as assigned.
