Perform scheduled/unscheduled O-Level maintenance on specific applicable squadron T/M/S aircraft airframe, ordnance, power plants, corrosion control and painting, and related systems. This role involves maintaining and repairing aircraft engine systems, structures, and components of moderate difficulty. The Aircraft Mechanic II will also maintain and repair aircraft components, flight controls, power plants, and related systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems. They will apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and use expertise to restore equipment condition and operation. This position requires interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints, maintenance manuals, and directives. Engine Turn and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) designated personnel must be at a minimum Level II Mechanic. The technician will receive technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians, may lead teams through complex tasks, and might make entries in aircraft logs and records. Level II Mechanics must prioritize workload to meet schedules and maintenance standards. Routine lifting exceeding OSHA standards is required, and ordnance loading may involve team lifts of up to 167 pounds per team member. Level II Mechanics are responsible for guiding Level I personnel in specific maintenance actions. All Airframe/Power Plants mechanics may be required to become Plane Captain certified.
