About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic II (Flight Line) - AV-8B Program position involves testing, troubleshooting, installation, removal, inspection, repair, alignment, and rigging of various aircraft systems and components. The role requires the mechanic to obtain and maintain specific designations and certifications, such as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), along with qualifications for engine turn-ups, towing, brake riding, and HAZMAT handling. The mechanic will work under the direction of the government's work center supervisor on systems including scheduled/unscheduled inspections, F402 engines, fuel systems, lubrication systems, starting and ignition systems, and applicable support equipment and publications. A minimum capability to test, troubleshoot, install, remove, inspect, repair, and align/rig systems and components is essential. Requirements

  • Minimum capability to test, troubleshoot, install, remove, inspect, repair, and align/rig the system and components and auxiliary equipment.
  • Possess designations and certifications such as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), Low/High Power Turn up Qualification, Tow, Brake Rider, Hydraulic Contamination, HAZMAT, and Support Equipment licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain designation as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), Low/High Power Turn up Qualification, Tow, Brake Rider, Hydraulic Contamination, HAZMAT, and Support Equipment licenses, and certifications.
  • Test, troubleshoot, install, remove, inspect, repair, align/rig systems components and ancillary equipment as directed by the government's work center supervisor.
  • Perform work on the following T/AV-8B systems: Required Scheduled/Unscheduled Inspections, F402-RR-408 A/B and F402-RR-406B Engines, Engine Fuel and Control System, Water Injection System, Engine Indicating System, Throttle and Thrust Nozzle Systems, Lubrication System, Starting and Ignition System, Aircraft Fuel Systems, Applicable Support/Special Equipment, Applicable Aircraft Publications, Diagrams, Sketches, and Drawings, Applicable Precision Measuring Equipment, Applicable knowledge of aircraft ground handling and common maintenance practices.
