About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic I perf o rms aircra f t maintenanc e to include inspection, ope r ational test, repair, modification and re p laceme n t of aircraft systems a n d c o mpone n ts. Must possess a high de g re e of expe r tise in aircraft systems, applicable mainte n anc e and tec h nic a l ma n uals and publications, basic a n d special tools, and te s t equipment. Must have a working knowledge of ground support equipment and c o rrosion detection, pr e vention, a n d tre a tment. Essential Responsibilitie s : I nspects a n d certifies aircraft at specific intervals as require d by OEM and FAA. Trouble s hoots system malfunctions, pe r forms necessar y corre c tive actions. Doc u me n ts mainte n ance of aircra f t on a p propriate forms. Removes a n d r e plac e s def e ctive components. Complies with se r vice bulletins, instructions a n d airworthine s s dire c tive s as directed. Perf o rms preflight/post flight tur n around a n d daily inspe c tions a n d se r vicing w h en re q uire d . Resea r ch aircra f t logbooks and historical data as re q uire d . Complies with sa f ety, foreign object damage , egress familia r iz a tion, a n d tool control progr a m r e quir e ments. Serve s as a point of c o ntact with the Quality Assuranc e Re p rese n tative. Advises mana g ement of pr o blems that may delay sc h eduled delivery of airc r aft to c u stomer. 11) Ensure s materials issued f o r assigned tasks are the cor r ect items to repair the problem. Provides on-the - job training to new employe e s as re q uire d . Assists with super v ision and inspects maintenance per f ormed by FAA certified a n d non-c e rtified pe r sonnel. Servic e s oxyge n , nitr o gen, tire s , oil a n d hydraulic systems. Perf o rms corrosion control che c ks w h en r e quire d . Exhibits positive courteous beha v ior with c u stomer s busine s ses a n d cow o rke r s. Assists coworke r s and those in other de p artments to succe s sfully perform job tasks and functions whe n necessary. Follows all safety procedures a n d pra c tic e s as e s tablished by the Company a n d regulatory bodies. Complie s with all e s tablished ge n eral a n d industrial sa f ety rules a n d r e gulations as applica b le to the c o ntract, facility, a n d job a s signment. Ensure s safety, sec u rity and pr e servation of government and c o mpa n y owned equipment. De a ls with the c u stomer in courteous, pr o fessional and e f fective manne r . Perf o rms othe r related duties as a s signe d by ma n agement. Maintains the cleanliness of the wor k center. Assist is aircr a ft inve n tory, a c cepta n ce, and tra n sfer inspections. Turn - up a n d taxi qualified a s require d . Perf o rm all other position related duties a s a s signe d or re q ue s ted.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ e x perie n ce as a n aircraft me c ha n ic.
  • Must be f a miliar with airc r aft systems, tools, dr a wings, schematics, and normal safety re q uirements.
  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, tre a tme n t, and pr e ve n tion.
  • Satisfa c tory completion of U.S. Arme d Forc e s aircr a ft mecha n ic c o urses and / or five (5) year s ’ expe r ienc e a s an airc r aft mecha n ic or te n (10) years rece n t aircra f t maintena n ce on similar type aircraft.
  • Must be a b le to meet any Government / Company lice n sing / qualification re q uirements for the position.
  • Posse s s a high de g ree of expe r tise of aircr a ft systems, applica b le maintenance / tec h nic a l manuals and publications, basic tools, special tools, and test equipment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of ground support equipment and c o rrosion detection, pre v ention, a n d tre a tment.
