The Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance to service, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness. This role requires intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area, including the ability to repair, modify, replace, or otherwise perform routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance work. The mechanic will interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine repair methods, and will rig and operationally test flight control surfaces, landing gear systems, and engine systems. Experience in troubleshooting landing gear, flight control, engines, hydraulic, and air-conditioning systems is essential. Effective communication with maintenance personnel at all levels is required to keep leadership informed of work progress and difficulties. The role also involves completing job assignments in a timely manner, completing OJT forms and required reading, assisting with general clean-up of the work area, accurately clocking to jobs, and maintaining regular and prompt attendance and appropriate conduct with coworkers. Other duties may be assigned.
