About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic 1 troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces MH47 functional components including rigging, flight controls, components, plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, and special tools/test sets. This role supports the SOATB MH47 program with an emphasis on flight line maintenance. The mechanic will troubleshoot malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Requirements

Must be a US citizen with valid drivers license.
Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
6+ years' experience in Army aviation.
Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time / complete TDY assignments.
Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate equipment/vehicles on the flight line.
Experience using aircraft special tools and test sets.
Must have own tools/toolbox.
Must be able to climb on and around aircraft and use maintenance stands.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience with MH47 aircraft is desirable.

Responsibilities

Works supporting the SOATB MH47 program.
Emphasis will be on flight line maintenance.
The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, axillary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records.
Be a member of the aircraft towing team.
