The Aircraft Mechanic I (UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. This role involves removing and installing aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. The mechanic will also service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems, prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks, and perform scheduled inspections, assisting with special inspections. Additionally, the position requires performing limited maintenance operational checks and assisting in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment. The mechanic will use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment, and prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Responsibilities also include removing and disassembling defective parts of the aircraft, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. The role adheres to company policies and safety programs with a safety-first mentality, and may include additional duties as assigned.
