About The Position

Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I (Sheet Metal) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) for the Short-Range Recovery (SRR) Division. This role involves providing aircraft maintenance services to ensure aircraft remain in top condition. The position will support the USCG's Program Depot Maintenance (PDM) program, which includes total overhauls of airframes every four years. This involves complete disassembly, cleaning, repair, repainting, and reassembly of aircraft. The role also supports overhauls and repairs for other Government aircraft and components. The Aircraft Maintenance Services (AMS) will perform disassembly, maintenance, repair, inspections, and evaluations of sheet metal and composite structures, electrical and electrical components, avionics and avionics components, dynamic components, landing gear, and flight controls. This includes routing and verification of components, equipment, and supplies on the SRR MH-65 aircraft.

Requirements

• Four (5) years of documented experience performing aircraft maintenance on fixed or rotary wing aircraft or demonstrated experience performing aircraft maintenance as an Aircraft Helper on this contract.
• Four (5) years of documented experience performing aircraft sheet metal repairs on fixed or rotary wing aircraft.
• Ability to operate all GSE equipment associated with fixed wing airframes (scissor lift, etc.).
• Gas Free Engineer qualified.
• Forklift qualified.
• High school diploma or equivalent (unless higher education is required for a particular job category).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Shall be citizens of the U.S.
• Possess computer skills to include a basic knowledge sufficient to complete internet searches and prepare/edit documents utilizing word processing or spreadsheet applications.
• Capable of performing tasks that frequently require lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods of time.
• Capable of performing tasks in cramped, awkward, and strained positions and/or climbing up and down ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
• Capable of carrying items up to 40 pounds and on heavier items shall seek assistance of other workers or weightlifting devices.
• Capable of using cumbersome Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations.

Nice To Haves

• Specialized experience in aviation sheet metal repair and experience related to USCG aircraft specific models is highly desirable.
• Experience with USCG MH65 aircraft is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Airbus Helicopters’ Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals or similar OEM manuals, with the ability to research maintenance history, procedures and component limitations are desired.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate work methods and techniques.
• Read, understand, and apply trade or administrative guides, such as technical manuals, technical orders, blueprints, sketches, and other related documents.
• Lift, reach, bend, walk, pull, sit, stand, crouch, stoop, kneel, and stretch for prolonged periods of time.
• Work in cramped, awkward, and strained positions or climb ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
• Follow appropriate safety procedures common to the trade.
• Handle specific hazardous materials and hazardous wastes procedures, including proper fitting and usage of protective gear and completion of related training.
• Carry items up to 40 pounds, or heavier with assistance.
• Wear cumbersome personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing for Hazardous Material operations.
• Perform aircraft sheet metal repair and maintenance.
• Conduct research using USCG data systems such as Technical Manual Application System (TMAPS) and Microsoft Office Suite, or similar type systems.
• Deal with aircraft upgrades and aging aircraft sustainment issues.
• Integrate new components and develop repair and/or replacement strategies for airframes, components, and/or substructures.
• Work in regulated areas with toxic materials present including hexavalent chromium and cadmium, using PPE such as protective clothing and respirators.
