About The Position

ACET is seeking a H-1 Aircraft Mechanic in our Jacksonville, NC location. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks on aircraft and their systems, including inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and record-keeping. The mechanic will also provide technical guidance to other mechanics and operate specialized equipment.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years aviation experience.
Must have a minimum of 4 years rotary wing aviation experience.
Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6114/6174, equivalent skill designation from other services, or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
UH-1 and AH-1 experience required.
Must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card (CAC).
Secret Clearance Required
Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
Must demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
Able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.
High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
Perform troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems, including fuel and oil systems.
Perform functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting as required and trained.
Maintain aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA).
Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
Experience operating aviation ground support equipment (GSE), precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and standard aviation maintenance hand tools.
Perform maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
Provide technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to assure acceptable quality work and flight line services.
