About The Position

Yulista Contract Services LLC is seeking qualified Aircraft Structures/Sheet Metal Mechanics for positions that include a competitive total compensation package. The Aircraft Structural - Sheet Metal Mechanic I, II, and III is responsible for assessing aircraft damage and drafting repair procedures for aircraft structural and composite components. This role requires advanced metalworking practices and depot-level techniques to form, cut, bend, and fasten new or repair components to damaged structures, with a high proficiency in close tolerance drilling/reaming for high-strength fastener installation and expert use of powered/non-powered metalworking tooling and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanic I: 2+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience with fixed/rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft or equivalent.
  • Mechanic II: 5+ years of relevant aircraft depot level structural maintenance experience with fixed/rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft.
  • Mechanic III: 12+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience with fixed/rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft.
  • Mechanic III: 5+ years of depot level structural maintenance experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
  • Must be able to communicate issues to management.
  • Highly knowledgeable of fixed wing aircraft construction features, identification and characteristics of aerospace materials to include proper use, mixing, and storage of acids, solvents, alcohol, caustics, primers, and paints, and proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Extensive knowledge in fabrication and depot repair/replacement of metal components, tubing, cable, plastic, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite structural components.
  • Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Must be able to utilize respirator, forced air, or other breathing equipment during the performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills.
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
  • Ability to follow processes.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

  • Previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A773 highly desirable (for Mechanic III).
  • Multi aspect aviation qualifications/certifications/disciplines highly preferred (for Mechanic II).
  • Multi aspect aviation qualifications/certifications/disciplines and ability to train these skills a must (for Mechanic III).
  • Experience supporting DoD contracts (for Mechanic II and III).
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within depot level maintenance required (for Mechanic II).
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within depot level maintenance (for Mechanic III).
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airplane and/or Powerplant certification a plus (for Mechanic II).
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and/or Powerplant certification a plus (for Mechanic III).
  • Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess damage to aircraft structural components and formulate proper repair/replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
  • Remove and install close tolerance, high-strength fasteners in major aircraft structural components.
  • Design structural repair, modification, and corrosion protection treatments to maintain structural integrity.
  • Perform post-repair flight control weight and balance functions and control surface rigging per designated technical orders.
  • Inspect components/repairs for structural serviceability according to specifications and technical publications.
  • Manufacture or use jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds to fabricate repair or replacement parts.
  • Use advanced metalworking practices, equipment, and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and components.
  • Train others on shop drawing and depot-level metal layout techniques, shop mathematics, corrosion identification, removal, repair, and prevention, cleaning of metals, application of protective coatings, and markings.
  • Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
  • Use automated maintenance systems for inputting, validating, and analyzing data, and for inspecting, clearing, and closing out maintenance discrepancies.
  • Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.
  • Store, handle, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards and company processes.
  • Operate and maintain related aircraft Support Equipment (SE).
  • Use automated maintenance systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, and manage time change databases.
  • Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
  • Maintain strict tool control procedures, report missing/lost/found/unattended tools, and inventory/inspect tools regularly.
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations, and promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures.
  • Maintain equipment records, entering the description of work performed and verifying satisfactory completion.
  • Perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
