The Aircraft Mechanic I (AH-64) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. This role involves removing and installing aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls. The mechanic will also service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems, prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks, and perform scheduled and assist in special inspections. A key part of the job includes performing limited maintenance operational checks and assisting in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment. The role requires the use and operator maintenance of tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment, as well as preparing forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Additionally, the mechanic will remove and disassemble defective parts, maintain supplies, and perform preventive maintenance. The position also includes additional duties as requested, adhering to company policies and a safety-first mentality.
