Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Aviation invites applications for the position of Aircraft Maintenance Technician. The Aircraft Maintenance Technician reports to the Aircraft Maintenance Manager and performs or assists in preventative maintenance, maintenance, minor and major alterations, and rebuilding of an aircraft, airframe, piston-engine, propeller, appliance, part, and components. The role requires performing maintenance in a cost-conscious and safe manner, prioritizing the well-being of personnel using SE aircraft. The technician will exercise privileges authorized by the Administrator under FAR Part 65 and perform maintenance under the rules prescribed by FAR Part 43. Responsibilities include assisting in researching and logging applicable Airworthiness Directives and Service Letters/Bulletins, ensuring logbook entries and work orders are completed correctly, and providing on-the-job training to maintenance personnel as assigned. The position may require working after hours, on alternating Saturdays, and being on call 24/7 as scheduled. Other duties are assigned by management. The working conditions involve exposure to prevailing conditions when conducting maintenance outside SE's facilities. Job hazards include working in close proximity to running engines and propellers, with noxious/carcinogenic materials and chemicals, rotating machinery, power tools, high-pressure gases, in potentially confined areas, and lifting heavy objects.
