About The Position

Under close supervision, the Aircraft Maintenance Tech 1 performs or assists with aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key components to help ensure proper operation. The role includes basic aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and functional systems and components. The position is based at Gulfstream’s Mesa service center, with first- or second-shift options and travel of up to 25%.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of aviation maintenance experience in avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical work, or an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned maintenance and servicing of aircraft mechanical systems.
• Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot aircraft components, including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
• Complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure completed work meets quality standards and specifications.
• Identify customer property and equipment with tags and store it securely and safely.
• Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
• Operate and oversee the use of special support equipment for removal and installation of major components.
• Coordinate with other departments to arrange overhaul or repair of customer property as needed.
• Apply 6S and Lean initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean.
• Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
• Coordinate aircraft movement as required.
• Maintain working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
