About The Position

The F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor is assigned to NAS Patuxent River’s F-35 Integrated Test Force (ITF). This role provides full spectrum leadership to the ITF’s Flight Test Maintenance department represented personnel deployed to NAS Patuxent River. The supervisor will coordinate directly with the ITF’s Maintenance Managers for all maintenance activities, focusing on leadership and management of personnel and resources. Responsibilities include providing technical direction, personnel actions such as performance recognition, employee recruitment, staffing, and disciplinary actions for hourly personnel. The scope includes delivering detailed aircraft maintenance planning for F-35 aircraft and support equipment, managing general services, repairs, and overhauls of F-35 aircraft and engines to ensure airworthiness. The role also involves enforcing good housekeeping and safety practices for the Development Foundation Contract (DFC), directing periodic inspections and repairs, providing technical assistance, creating and assigning work-orders in ALIS, and assisting in signing aircraft exceptional releases and verifying aircraft safety for flight. The selected candidate will be integral to test planning and coordination with various teams and agencies, and must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection. They must also be deployable to US Naval vessels and throughout the continental US, and flexible to support 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts and weekend duty. This position requires a government security clearance and eligibility for classified information.

  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Fighter Aircraft Maintenance experience (F-35, F-22, F- 15, F-16, F-18, etc.)
  • Aviation Leadership experience
  • Experience in modification and/or test of aircraft and associated systems
  • Experience with Aircraft Ground Operations Procedures and Aviation Safety
  • Generally has 3+ years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures good housekeeping and safety practices are enforced for the Development Foundation Contract (DFC).
  • Directs periodic inspections and general repairs or modifications requiring replacement and assembly of parts.
  • Provides technical assistance as required.
  • Creates and assign work-orders in the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
  • Assists in signing the aircraft exceptional release off and verifying aircraft are safe for flight.
  • Selected candidate will be integral to test planning and coordination with Test Operations, Flight Operations, Air Vehicle Engineering, Logistics, Safety, Quality & Mission Success, GFR/Aviation Performance Team and NAS Patuxent River base agencies.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned and/or required by needs of the customer/program.
