The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor advises the Superintendent on technical matters and leads a mission-focused maintenance effort. The role manages resources needed to accomplish the mission and controls maintenance through leads and senior personnel. Responsibilities are common across maintenance functions, with differences primarily in scope. The supervisor enforces adherence to technical data and management procedures, adjusts resources to meet production needs, provides adequate supervisory coverage for each shift, and manages the special certification roster (SCR). The role ensures maintenance actions are documented accurately and entered and completed in the MIS, reviews management and production effectiveness, analyzes personnel and equipment performance history using QA reports, and initiates actions to meet new workloads or address deficiencies. The supervisor participates in maintenance planning, ensures qualified personnel use appropriate equipment and tools, and advises the production supervisor about conditions that could disrupt the maintenance plan. The position also ensures compliance with safety directives and applicable occupational and industrial safety standards, establishes procedures to reduce foreign object damage and dropped objects, and performs other related duties as assigned. It may require travel and availability to work any assigned shift or schedule. The work is in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. It involves occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using a computer terminal, frequent visual review of documents, and ongoing communication, mental alertness, planning, and organization. The employee must be able to work under deadlines.
