About The Position
Cotulla Education, which includes the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM), Centura College, Tidewater Tech, and American Lineman College, is dedicated to providing career-focused education in high-demand fields. AIM is hiring Aircraft Maintenance Instructors at its Manassas campus to train students for FAA-certified mechanic roles within its Part 147 program. The role is ideal for individuals with military aviation maintenance experience, offering a structured 5-day paid instructor training program to facilitate the transition into teaching. AIM has a history of training aviation maintenance technicians, including transitioning service members, and the instructors often work alongside fellow veterans and former civilian mechanics. No prior teaching experience is required, as the training program is designed to support technical professionals in moving into instructional roles. The position emphasizes the precision, discipline, and teaching abilities honed in military aviation maintenance, qualities that are also essential for effective A&P instructors. Instructors will translate their hands-on experience into classroom instruction, mentor students, and work in a mission-driven environment with clear expectations. The role also offers opportunities for continued expertise development while shaping future FAA-certified mechanics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Background as an A&P Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic, or Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT)
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and aviation maintenance procedures
- Interest in mentoring, coaching, and developing others
- Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven training environment
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Flexibility to support evening or weekend schedules as needed

Responsibilities
