Reporting to the Maintenance Control Manager, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for conducting inspections, troubleshooting aircraft defects, maintaining, and making repairs and upgrades to aircraft to ensure proper and safe operation. The AME has an in-depth working knowledge of aircraft and their associated sub-systems and carefully follows Transport Canada regulations and Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS). The AME works well under pressure and possesses excellent time management skills.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License with an M1 or M2 rating.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Operate hand, air, and power tools from floor to above shoulders.
  • Ability to stand on concrete and asphalt for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, and climb to perform various tasks; and climb ladders and scaffolding to access parts of aircraft.
  • High level of accountability with strong communication, analytical thinking, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced and safety sensitive environment.
  • Ability to travel, both domestic and international, on short notice.
  • Valid Driver’s License and current Passport.
  • Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Endorsements and experience on AS350, B407, B205, AS332-L2, and SK76.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical, hydraulic systems or electrical systems to identify defects and adjust/repair systems in accordance with regulatory standards and maintenance manual procedures.
  • Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical, hydraulic systems, or electrical systems.
  • Install or modify aircraft engines and mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel, and electrical systems.
  • Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines, or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul, and cleaning, and reassemble components or airframes.
  • Perform and document routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft.
  • Accurate completion and certification of logbooks, work orders, and other associated maintenance records utilizing WinAir software system.
  • Ensure all components, parts, and materials utilized in the maintenance, repair, modifications, or overhaul of aeronautical products are correctly certified.
  • Ability to plan and perform scheduled maintenance in accordance with the maintenance forecast generated from WinAir when working alone in the field.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless service without compromising safety and quality.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to maintain a high level of production.
  • Provide mentorship to assigned apprentice aircraft maintenance engineers.
  • Maintain and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances and actively participate in Custom Helicopters’ Safety Management System, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations.
  • Travel to remote locations as needed to repair and maintain aircraft in the field.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
