Position Summary Reporting to both the Crew Chief and the Heavy Production Manager, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, servicing, inspecting, repairing and performing heavy mechanical maintenance to an aircraft before it is considered airworthy. Personal Characteristics Mechanical aptitude, trainable Strong knowledge of basic hand tools Highly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment Professional and respectful, with a positive work attitude Timely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essential Motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective verbal and written communication skills High level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communities Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance on aircraft Marshal and tow aircraft Maintain a clean and organized work environment Work indicated by supervisor Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations Experience working on a line or heavy maintenance environment is required Transport Canada AME Licence with an “M2, E, S” ratings required Working Conditions Physically able to perform all listed job duties Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily Repetitive tasks Various shifts Fast paced work environment in order to meet service level requirements of the airline Methods and procedures described or implied in the job profile may be altered to accommodate employees.
