About The Position

Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is currently looking for Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AAMTs) to join our team for a career-focused, �earn while you learn�, on-the-job experience with the goal of achieving their A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) license. This position will be responsible for assisting with routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs including airframe structures, engines and aircraft systems. The Apprentice AMT will assist with making repairs and conducting tests to keep equipment operating efficiently and safely. This job posting will close at 11:59pm ET on Friday, May 15th. World Class Training In coordination with Purdue University�s School of Aviation & Transportation Technology , a premier program in aviation maintenance education, Flexjet apprentices will have access to: Classes and curriculum developed in conjunction with Purdue staff and instructors Modules will include both hands on and computer-based learning The ability to learn on the latest model aircraft with the most advanced technology will not only have the ability to obtain an Airframe and Powerplant license but will also exit with advanced Avionics training as well. Investment In Your Success All apprentices will receive a toolbox as well as all necessary tools, a crucial advantage for those beginning a career in the field (valued at $50,000). Apprentices will earn great pay and benefits while completing the program. Upon successful completion of the 30-month program, successful program graduates that attain their A&P license will be guaranteed a position within Flexjet�s global maintenance infrastructure while enjoying top of industry compensation and benefits.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and MS Office programs
  • Must have the ability to multi-task within a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and well organized; demonstrate excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude
  • Successful candidate will be highly motivated and work effectively under pressure and time constraints
  • Successful completion of drug & alcohol screening
  • Pass a security background check & be eligible for an airport (SIDA) badge
  • Available to work any shift, any days, and be able to travel
  • Must possess a valid driver�s license
  • Must have the legal right to accept employment in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing all airframe and powerplant repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements
  • Remove and disassemble parts; assist with assembly and installation of replacement parts and testing aircraft systems
  • Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments
  • Tow, park, and secure aircraft at various ramp and hangar locations
  • Must support all company policies and safety programs to include OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints; with some assistance
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
  • Work in accordance with established safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Present a clean and neat work area
  • Help with general clean-up of work area.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and deliver satisfaction to the internal/external customer
  • Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned
