The Aircraft Issue Clerk is responsible for the issuing of aircraft to pilots in accordance with applicable procedures. Certifies issued aircraft are safe for flight. Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction to employees in the Organizational Maintenance Control Clerk and Data Entry Clerk classifications. Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Data Entry Clerk classification. Releases aircraft that are “Safe for Flight ". Operates two-way communication equipment to coordinate flight line operations. Utilizing flight schedules designate and issue aircraft in accordance with mission requirements to scheduled instructor pilots and students. Directs pilot discrepancies to appropriate maintenance personnel. Assists student and instructor pilots in completion of applicable maintenance forms. Maintains / reviews Aircraft Discrepancy Books (ADB) to ensure accuracy. Coordinates special / cross country flights with squadron flight duty officer. Maintains appropriate tracking for fuel, aborts, trouble calls, oxygen servicing, spot numbers, turn around inspections, etc. Tracks flight hours to initiate aircraft engine oil sampling. Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required. Complies with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment. Ensures safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment. Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
