About The Position

Panasonic Avionics Corporation is a leading provider of inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) systems. The Electrical Aircraft Integration Engineer II is responsible for designing and integrating hardware for IFEC systems throughout all phases of aircraft development, from concept to delivery. This role involves executing design tasks, supporting integration efforts, and collaborating with various teams. The engineer will also represent the company through domestic and international travel for on-site installations, surveys, and customer engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field).
  • 2 years of engineering experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Understanding of airline regulatory guidelines and OEM design requirements.
  • Exposure to aircraft electrical wiring design; supports senior engineers.
  • Knowledge of mechanical structural design.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software (CREO, Routed System Designer, BricsCAD, Team Center, Siemens Capital & NX).
  • Introductory knowledge of avionics components: wire and connectors; learning component functions.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of avionics manufacturing processes.
  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Problem-solving; escalates issues appropriately.
  • Works independently on assigned tasks and contributes effectively to team efforts.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal. Interacting with multiple levels in an organization, as well as suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to both domestic and international locations.

  • Experience in commercial aviation industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop integration engineering solutions for IFEC installation in seats, monuments, and other cabin areas, as well as external aircraft modifications.
  • Interpret customer requirements into engineering designs in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyses to validate design feasibility.
  • Identify and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve engineering risks and design challenges.
  • Conduct aircraft surveys to collect detailed design data and identify integration constraints.
  • Lead on-site aircraft installations and support First Article Inspections (FAIs) to verify design compliance and resolve integration challenges.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers for successful deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Utilize CAD tools and engineering software for design tasks.
  • Participate in Technical Kick Off (TKO) meetings and contribute to engineering plans.
  • Document design deliverables and identify key integration tasks.
  • Contribute to internal Design Quality Verification (DQV) meetings, presenting designs, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Lead design reviews (ITCM, PDR, CDR) and resolve technical challenges.
  • Create engineering documentation including integration design drawings, specifications, and installation documentation (System Block Diagram, Wiring Diagrams, Assembly Drawings, Seat Configurations, Service Bulletins, Engineering Orders, Electrical Load Analysis, Work Instructions).
  • Support process improvements.
  • Learn and apply compliance principles.
  • Observe and use tools like B-PALL and RCCA for learning.
