About The Position

This is an opportunity for an Aircraft Inspector V to provide expert oversight for all aircraft inspection activities, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area. IAS is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime integrator for manned and unmanned aircraft systems, offering end-to-end C4ISR capabilities from design to logistics support, consistently delivering solutions that meet customer requirements on time and within budget.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
7+ years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation required.
PC-12 experience is mandatory.
Advanced experience with and knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
Comprehensive understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations.
Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
Ability to deploy for a minimum of 90 days to OCONUS operating location.
Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
Work 6 days M-Sat, 12 hours days - 1st shift (72 hours).
Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
Comprehensive understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
Prior experience with first article inspections and/or aircraft modifications.
Experience as an FAA Designee for Conformity Inspections.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
