About The Position

This is an opportunity for an Aircraft Inspector V to provide expert oversight for all aircraft inspection activities, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area. IAS is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Their capabilities span design, integration, testing, certification, ground/flight training, and complete logistics support, consistently delivering solutions that meet customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience (Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience).
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation required.
  • PC-12 experience is mandatory.
  • Advanced experience with and knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Ability to deploy for a minimum of 90 days to OCONUS operating location.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
  • Work 6 days M-Sat, 12 hours days - 1st shift (72 hours).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
  • Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Prior experience with first article inspections and/or aircraft modifications.
  • Experience as an FAA Designee for Conformity Inspections.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
