About The Position
The Aircraft Fueler is responsible for safely and efficiently fueling and defueling aircraft and providing related airport servicing. The role requires performing basic mathematical calculations involving weight, measurement, and volume to interpret aircraft weight-and-balance loading instructions as they relate to fueling. The position also requires maintaining a safe and secure work environment in accordance with applicable health, safety, and security procedures. The role is primarily outdoors and requires working in all weather conditions and flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays. Pay is $20.25 per hour, up to $22.75 per hour with shift differential.
Requirements
- Proficiently read, write, and speak English and perform basic math calculations.
- Able to handle fueling carts and hoses, including lifting and moving up to 70 pounds.
- Comfortable working primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Must pass the Department of Airports driver’s test and obtain an airport operational area (AOA) driving license.
- Must pass an FBI background check and obtain a U.S. Customs seal.
- Must pass pre-employment medical/physical and drug testing.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience, including a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Prior ramp experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently fuel aircraft using fuel trucks, hydrant carts, and stationary carts.
- Accurately account for fuel transactions.
- Perform daily quality-control checks on equipment and keep equipment clean and functional.
- Ensure correct fuel loading and balancing.
- Defuel aircraft as directed.
- Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing at work, following provided training, information, and workplace procedures.
