About The Position

The Aircraft Fueler safely and efficiently fuels and defuels aircraft and performs related servicing at the airport. The role involves using basic arithmetic for weight, measurement, and volume calculations to interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions. Fuelers are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures. Work is primarily outdoors and requires comfort working in all weather conditions. The position is located at Pittsburgh International Airport, offers on-the-spot hiring, and provides paid training. Available schedules include 1:00 a.m.–9:30 a.m., 4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m., 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m., and 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m.

Requirements

A driver’s license is required.
Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to handle fueling carts and hoses, including lifting and moving up to 70 pounds.
Comfort working primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
Availability and flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience, including a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Fuel aircraft safely and efficiently using fuel trucks, hydrant carts, and stationary carts.
Drive and operate fuel trucks and other fueling equipment.
Accurately account for fuel transactions.
Perform daily quality-control checks on equipment and keep equipment clean and functional.
Ensure the correct loading and balancing of fuel.
Defuel aircraft as directed.
Take reasonable care of the health, safety, and wellbeing of oneself and others, and follow workplace safety and security procedures.
