About The Position

Signalink, a dynamic, small defense contractor committed to excellence in providing advanced defense solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Aircraft Electrician to join our team. This role involves performing aircraft electrical installation, modification, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities in support of U.S. Army aviation programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in aircraft electrical work, avionics installation, aircraft modification, electrical systems integration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience fabricating and installing aircraft wiring, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical interconnects.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, installation drawings, wire lists, and technical data.
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft electrical installation and modification activities.
  • Experience with wire termination, crimping, soldering, splicing, connector assembly, pinning, and depinning.
  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft electrical systems using appropriate test equipment and diagnostic methods.
  • Ability to work from detailed technical instructions while maintaining high standards for workmanship, accuracy, and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify wiring, installation, and workmanship discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school, vocational training, or military technical training in aircraft electrical systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Army aviation programs or other DoD aircraft modification and sustainment programs.
  • Experience working on rotary-wing aircraft, particularly UH-60 or other Army aviation platforms.
  • Familiarity with Army aviation technical manuals, aircraft wiring diagrams, wiring data modules, installation instructions, and other controlled technical data.
  • Familiarity with aircraft electrical standards, wire identification requirements, connector systems, shielding, grounding and bonding, and wire routing practices.
  • Experience with aircraft modification work orders, engineering change documentation, technical data packages, or installation kits.
  • Experience with aircraft electrical troubleshooting, fault isolation, and functional testing.
  • Familiarity with aircraft airworthiness and quality requirements.
  • Experience working in a government or defense contractor environment.
  • Experience working alongside engineers and supporting engineering-led aircraft modification and system integration efforts.
  • Familiarity with aircraft electrical inspection and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft electrical installation, modification, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities in support of U.S. Army aviation programs.
  • Fabricate, assemble, install, modify, and repair aircraft electrical wiring, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical interconnects in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, technical data, and applicable standards.
  • Perform aircraft electrical installations, including routing, securing, terminating, and connecting wiring, harnesses, connectors, electrical components, and associated hardware.
  • Build and install wire harnesses and cable assemblies using approved materials, tooling, techniques, and workmanship standards.
  • Perform crimping, soldering, splicing, pinning, depinning, connector assembly, terminal installation, and other electrical fabrication activities as required.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, installation drawings, technical manuals, wire lists, and other technical data.
  • Support aircraft modification and system integration activities by installing new or modified electrical and avionics equipment and associated wiring.
  • Perform electrical continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, and other applicable testing to verify proper installation and system functionality.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft electrical systems and wiring to identify faults, shorts, opens, poor connections, damaged wiring, connector issues, and other electrical problems.
  • Use electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters and other applicable diagnostic tools, to isolate faults and support corrective actions.
  • Support engineering and technical teams during installation, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of aircraft electrical systems.
  • Identify installation discrepancies, workmanship issues, and potential safety concerns and communicate findings to engineering and program leadership.
  • Maintain accurate installation, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting documentation in accordance with program and customer requirements.
  • Follow applicable aircraft maintenance practices, technical data, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and properly maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
  • Work effectively with electricians, engineers, technicians, mechanics, and other multidisciplinary team members to complete aircraft modification and integration activities.
