Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements. This role involves applying basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the area of specialization. The technician will perform repairs on mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies by removing, repairing, or replacing defective parts, and/or fabricating replacement parts. All activities must adhere to Repair Station requirements, ensuring parts and assemblies meet conformance. The role also includes setting up, maintaining, and operating necessary test equipment to perform functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical aircraft components for return to service. Inspection of detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals is crucial. Responsibilities also include removing skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components, locating and installing/reinstalling parts, demonstrating effective repair techniques, and maintaining required paperwork in accordance with FAA RS requirements. A clean and orderly work area and compliance with environmental health and safety regulations are expected. Additional duties may include laying out, removing, fabricating, and installing repairs to flight controls and other secondary structure components, fabricating and repairing sheetmetal parts, removing and installing APUs and performing required APU maintenance, fabricating and repairing wiring and electrical assemblies, troubleshooting complex electrical circuits, assisting with training junior technicians, and resolving routine questions and problems.
