About The Position

The Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) plays a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of Canadian North’s diverse fleet, performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft. Our fleet includes Boeing 737-300, 737-400, and 737-700 series, as well as ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft, many of which operate in combi configurations to transport both passengers and cargo across remote northern regions. Working in accordance with manufacturer maintenance manuals and industry standards, this role involves inspections, repairs, modifications, and aircraft movements in challenging operating environments, including gravel and ice runways. ACAs are also responsible for signing maintenance releases, ensuring each aircraft is safe, compliant, and ready for service.

Requirements

  • Must possess Transport Canada M2 License;
  • Successful completion of an Aircraft Maintenance Diploma is required;
  • 4 years of relevant experience;
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision;
  • Must be able to obtain an AVOP;
  • Must have valid Canadian Drivers License;
  • Must have excellent organization and communication skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on ATR and/or Boeing 737 aircraft is an asset;
  • ATR or 737 Type course an asset;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut is an asset;

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance activities carried out on the aircraft (i.e. repairs, inspections modifications, and aircraft movements);
  • Responsible to be familiar with all procedures necessary to follow for the maintenance or repairs to the aircraft and equipment;
  • Perform work on aircraft and components as outlined by applicable work sheets, forms, work orders, Service Bulletins and procedure manuals in conformity with accepted practices;
  • Ensure all work carried out is properly documented in accordance with the procedures manual;
  • Ensure proper completion of Aircraft Parts Tags, both serviceable and unserviceable, completed or originated on shift;
  • Responsible for the care and control of company publications, tools and equipment are returned after use;
  • Other duties as assigned.
