About The Position

This position involves planning and executing flights as assigned, ensuring all flights are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations (FAR 135) and safety guidelines. The role requires meticulous preparation of flight plans, verification of aircraft airworthiness, and conducting pre-flight risk assessments. The Aircraft Captain is responsible for completing assigned flights adhering to schedules and load manifests, ensuring effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) among flight crew, and maintaining clear communication with on-site management regarding safety, maintenance, and personnel issues.

Requirements

  • FAA Multi Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Current FAA First Class Medical
  • Current US Passport with at least 6 months remaining at all times
  • 1,500 PIC time
  • 500 PIC multi-engine
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance at the Secret level
  • High school Diploma

Nice To Haves

  • 3,000 hours total time
  • 1,200 multi-engine turbine-time
  • Experience in aerial delivery operations
  • Experience in NVG operations
  • Holds a current and active U.S. Security clearance at the Secret level
  • Have at least one year of experience as a FAR part 135 pilot of an aircraft.
  • To have at least one year of Government contracting experience in OCONUS austere environments/locations

Responsibilities

  • Plan flights as assigned, obtaining information regarding purpose, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.
  • Ensure proper preparation of flight plans, considering factors like altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities, and navigational aids.
  • Ensure all flights are released in accordance with FAR 135 guidelines and that all necessary documentation is aboard the aircraft.
  • Ensure required airworthiness inspections have been accomplished and any discrepancies are corrected or properly deferred.
  • Complete the aircraft preflight inspection and perform preflight preparation, including a risk assessment for each flight.
  • Complete each flight as assigned, strictly adhering to schedules, routes of flight, and load manifests.
  • Ensure all crew members are practicing CRM and are fully briefed on flight particulars, changes, and aircraft/environmental conditions.
  • Communicate routinely with on-site management personnel on issues regarding safety of flight, aircraft maintenance, life support, customer concerns, or personnel issues.
