The Aircraft Assembler role involves the assembly, installation, sealing, rigging, inspection, and completion of precision and structural/system components, adhering strictly to drawings, specifications, and procedures. This position requires performing functional testing to ensure the proper fit, form, and function of assemblies and components. Key aspects include obtaining information from various sources like prints and work instructions, applying shop mathematics, and utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments and tooling. The assembler is responsible for verifying that all work meets engineering and process specifications, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring equipment and tools are properly certified. Routine minor machine maintenance is also part of the role. The position requires moving products within the manufacturing area, completing transaction records, working within established schedules, and actively supporting continuous workflow by training and assisting team members, including cross-training in inspection to achieve SIA qualification. For Level B responsibilities, the role includes setting up and operating conventional and/or CNC equipment and fastening equipment, as well as performing specialized processes like drivematic operations. Specialized skills in areas such as structure assembly/installation, integral fuel cell sealing, sub-assembly, door assembly/installation, precision bench assembly, and pressure/vacuum testing are also required.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience as aircraft assembler
  • Ability to assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and structural/system components based on drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Ability to perform functional testing and ensure proper fit, form, and function of assemblies and components
  • Ability to obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, and verbal/electronic sources
  • Ability to apply shop mathematics and use precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Ability to use tooling to assemble components into sub-assemblies or final products
  • Ability to verify all work meets instructions and engineering/process specifications; identify and report discrepancies
  • Ability to ensure equipment and tools are properly certified according to procedures
  • Ability to perform routine minor machine maintenance (e.g., replacing filters, bulbs, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels)
  • Ability to move products within the manufacturing area using assigned equipment and complete required transaction records
  • Ability to work within established schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to support continuous workflow by training and assisting team members across levels
  • Ability to assist in training assembly personnel in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques
  • Ability to cross-train in inspection and achieve SIA qualification
  • Open to temporary contract

  • Specialized Skills (one or more): Assembly/Installation of structures, Sealing (including integral fuel cell sealing), Sub-assembly work, Door assembly/installation, Precision bench assembly, Pressure and vacuum testing
  • For Level B: Ability to set up and operate conventional and/or CNC equipment (less than 3-axis simultaneous movement) and fastening equipment
  • For Level B: Ability to perform specialized processes (e.g., drivematic operations)
