About The Position

The Air Transport Nurse provides advanced critical care to critically ill or injured patients during air, ground, and ECMO transport operations. This role includes assessing patient conditions, performing advanced medical interventions within CareFlite’s scope of practice, and ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transport. The Air Transport Nurse works collaboratively with paramedics, pilots, dispatch, and healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, patient-focused care while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Texas RN licensure
BCLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
Minimum 3 years of experience in critical care, emergency, or high-acuity nursing environment
Successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical assessment, and audiology test.
Maximum allowable weight: 230 lbs in full flight gear.

Nice To Haves

Associate/Bachelor's in nursing preferred
NRP certification preferred upon hire; all required prior to air orientation completion
TPATC or ATLS audit preferred upon hire; required prior to air orientation completion
ECMO experience preferred
