About The Position

At NAV CANADA, we are experts in navigating Canada's skies, responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient, and orderly flow of air traffic. This application is for Air Traffic Controller positions in the Moncton FIR (New-Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island) and other locations. We are looking for motivated individuals to manage Canada’s airspace. You do not require prior specialized training or experience, as training is paid for and provided by NAV CANADA, including a salary during training. The recruitment and training processes are rigorous and highly competitive, assessing candidates for core competencies through cognitive testing, prescreening interviews, and an assessment centre. Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a high school diploma, or equivalency.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Prepared to undergo a medical, security check, and drug testing (including cannabis).
  • Willing to relocate to NAV CANADA sites across Canada.
  • Able to meet language requirements: English for the Moncton Flight Information Region.
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Memorization skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • A high level of resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the safe, efficient and orderly flow of air traffic in 7 flight information regions (FIRs).
  • Working in NAV CANADA sites across the country.
  • Area Controllers (IFR) are responsible for air traffic in a large section of Canadian airspace and work out of Area Control Centres (ACCs).
  • Tower Controllers (VFR) have a direct view of the airport and aircraft, and use radio communication to issue instructions and clearances.
