ZOA Air Traffic Control Instructor-II
About The Position
SAIC is seeking an experienced, Full-time Air Traffic Control Instructor to join the Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Oakland ARTCC (ZOA) in Fremont, CA. This role supports air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The successful candidate must possess strong technical skills in current ATC automation, simulation systems, and procedures. The position involves delivering high-quality classroom and/or simulation laboratory training to a diverse group of students, including developmental air traffic controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPC). Responsibilities may also include mentoring students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO), and participating in curriculum design and development. The instructor must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to obtain radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAA air traffic control facilities within the U.S. National Airspace System. The FAA relies on contractor-provided instructional services, such as those offered by SAIC, to ensure a well-trained ATC workforce that maintains a high level of safety and professionalism for the flying public.
Requirements
- Experienced Air Traffic Control Instructor
- Strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems and procedures
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills applicable for obtaining radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAA air traffic control facilities within the U.S. National Airspace System
Responsibilities
- Deliver the highest quality classroom and/or simulation laboratory training to a wide variety of students including developmental air traffic controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPC)
