Air Quality Specialist 1

RETTEW is seeking an Air Quality Specialist to support environmental permitting, compliance, and air quality assessments for a wide range of public and private sector clients. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys problem-solving, regulatory analysis, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver practical environmental solutions. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in air quality permitting, compliance, or environmental consulting
- Working knowledge of air quality regulations and permitting processes
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Nice To Haves
- Experience with PA DEP air quality programs
- Familiarity with air modeling software (e.g., AERMOD)
- Consulting experience supporting industrial or municipal clients
- Professional certification (or progress toward certification)
Responsibilities
- Prepare air quality permit applications, compliance reports, and emissions inventories
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local air quality regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, PA DEP requirements)
- Conduct air dispersion modeling and emissions calculations as needed
- Support environmental due diligence and impact assessments
- Coordinate with internal project teams, regulators, and clients
- Assist with site inspections, data collection, and compliance evaluations
- Maintain accurate documentation and support project schedules and deliverables
