About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Scientist III. The Natural Resources and Environmental Permitting Department in New York and New Jersey is seeking a qualified scientist (3-10 yrs experience) to perform air quality and/or noise impact analyses through using mathematical modeling tools and conducting ambient and source air and noise monitoring programs. Skills required for this position include but are not limited to: Perform field work in both urban and rural settings. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to work as part of a larger team is a must. Eager to learn various air and noise modeling software.

Requirements

Ambient and noise monitoring experience required.
BS degree in Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
US Citizenship is required.
3-10 years of experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a larger team.
Eager to learn various air and noise modeling software.

Nice To Haves

Strong analytical and computational skill.
Excellent technical writing skills and ability to effectively discussion his or her work.
Detail oriented and have the ability to work independently.
Experienced with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, AERMOD, MOVES, CadnaA or SoundPLAN, sound levels meter, and/or air monitoring equipment a plus.
40 hour HAZWOPER training.
