The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Dallas-Fort Worth region, which is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking an Air Quality Planner to assist with the creation and implementation of strategies to support the transition to alternative fuel vehicles, including supporting the adoption of alternative fuel vehicles for the general public and fleets and planning/implementing associated infrastructure. A successful candidate should have an interest in reducing the air quality impacts of transportation using alternative fuel vehicles, with emphasis on zero-emission vehicles (i.e. battery-electric or hydrogen fuel cell). This position will support work of the Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition ( www.dfwcleancities.org ) and efforts to implement emission reduction strategies to improve air quality in the North Central Texas region, with an emphasis on complying with National Ambient Air Quality Standards. Work is highly collaborative, working not only with the NCTCOG staff, but with external stakeholders, including local government staff, fleets, citizen groups, associations, and industry representatives.
