About The Position
The Department of Environmental Quality seeks an Environmental Engineer to serve as a Permit Engineer within the Division of Air Quality. This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Final salary determination will depend on the candidate's qualifications, the assigned level within the job series, and the departmental budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineering License.
- Environmental permitting experience.
- Ability to read, understand and implement federal and state environmental rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Writing permits for sources of air pollution.
- Reviewing permit applications, including emission calculations.
- Assisting sources and the public with questions.
