About The Position

Riley Power group, LLC is seeking a skilled Air Operated Valve Tester for multiple positions across the US. This role involves comprehensive maintenance and construction services within the industrial sector. Key responsibilities include the removal, testing, inspection, refurbishment, and reinstallation of various valve actuator sizes and types from different manufacturers. The position also requires diagnostic testing of air operated valves using a site test platform, repair and rebuilding of AOV internals, determining the necessity of part replacements, setting AOV parameters, packing replacement and adjustments, and the rebuild, replacement, and calibration of positioners and I/p. Additionally, the role involves adjustments, rebuilds, and/or replacements of air supply regulators, limit switches, boosters, and solenoid air supply valves. Employees may be asked to perform other essential tasks not explicitly listed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years industrial air operated valve repair experience
  • Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair duties
  • Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to: Practical skills, other medical, psychological (if required by site), background and substance abuse screening(s)
  • Must be a citizen of the US, its possessions or territories, or lawful permanent resident as defined by USC 1101(a)(20), or protected individual as defined by USC 1324b(a)(3)

Responsibilities

  • Removal, testing, inspections, refurbishment and reinstallation of all valve actuator sizes and types (Direct, reverse, diaphragm, piston, etc.) of different manufacturers
  • Inspections, including but are not limited to, evaluation of overall condition, determination of internal parts conditions and usability, identification of service induced conditions such as abnormal wear, binding, etc., detailed inspections of parts, and complete/concise documentation of findings via appropriate Site documents and procedures
  • Diagnostic testing of air operated valves using Site test platform
  • Repair and rebuilding of air operated valve internals
  • Determining necessity of replacing parts
  • Setting actuator bench and valve stroke and other important AOV parameters
  • Packing replacement and adjustments
  • Positioner and I/p rebuild, replacements and calibrations
  • Air supply regulator, limit switch, booster adjustments, rebuilds and/or replacements
  • Solenoid air supply valve replacements
  • Perform tasks which are not listed in this description but may also be considered essential for employment
