About The Position

This position is for a Test and Evaluation Systems Engineer who will join a team of problem solvers. The role offers opportunities to pursue bold and creative approaches to improve the performance of operational systems in innovative new ways. The engineer will learn how a flight test mission progresses from a conceptual idea to a layered scenario that tests the latest technological developments in U.S. Missile Defense weapon systems and flight test vehicles. The position involves gaining direct experience in mission planning and execution, and in the conception, development, and fielding of vehicle systems. The role requires balancing technical growth in flight dynamics and orbital mechanics with an understanding of larger system objectives. The engineer will help develop new tools and perform analysis in areas such as test asset optimization, scenario design feasibility, target trajectory design and assessment, ground and air safety analysis, and Orbital Collision Avoidance (COLA) analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Background or knowledge in MATLAB or other scripting language.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by the start date.
  • Ability to ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
  • Must meet requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new tools and perform analysis in test asset optimization and overall scenario design feasibility.
