About The Position

i3 is seeking an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Product Owner (PO) who will work as a member of the Army Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires (PAE Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). This role is responsible for the prioritization and validation of development software for the Infrastructure Services & Libraries (ISL-2) team. The PO will review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, providing guidance to the development team. They will also support the team in developing and verifying acceptance criteria for software updates. Collaboration with Program Management is key for setting priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint. The role involves providing technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership, as well as reporting on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of at least some of the following: ansible and/or other scripting languages; data logging and archiving best practices; weapon system component health & status reporting best practices; the DDS standard; C++ and Java code.
  • Ability to work directly with Agile software developers.
  • Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
  • Be a US citizen.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences or mathematics.
  • Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate safety, engineering, risk, and technical information in discussions, documents, and briefings.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, staff, contractors, vendors, government personnel, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple technical tasks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate system-level technical information and recommend practical safety solutions.
  • Ability to support rapid innovation while maintaining disciplined system safety practices.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Initiative and willingness to support a rapidly evolving Launched Effects, UAS, safety, engineering, and acquisition environment.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
  • Experience in JIRA/Confluence is a plus.
