The Air Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing international air import and export operations, financial performance, and operational excellence initiatives. This role ensures efficient and compliant transportation execution, manages shipment profitability and financial controls, and drives continuous process improvements to support customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business growth.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
7-10 years of Logistics experience
1-3 management/supervisory experience
Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and Transportation industry best practices.
U.S. Customs regulations, TSA requirements, and international trade compliance.
Air cargo documentation, including MAWB, HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs entry requirements.
Financial management, budgeting, and shipment profitability analysis
Strong operational management and problem-solving skills.
Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
Stand/walk
Carry/lift up to 20 pounds

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end air import and export operations, ensuring timely and accurate movement of international shipments.
Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas offices/agents to ensure smooth shipment execution.
Arrange air freight bookings, confirm flight schedules, and monitor shipments from origin through final delivery.
Prepare, review, and process international shipping documentation, including MAWB, HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
Coordinate U.S. Customs clearance for import shipments and communicate with customs brokers to resolve documentation, clearance, or compliance issues.
Ensure export shipments comply with applicable U.S. export regulations, airline requirements, and customer-specific procedures.
Track and trace shipments and proactively communicate shipment status, delays, exceptions, and corrective actions to customers and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate pickup, airport transfer, customs clearance, warehouse handling, and final-mile delivery according to customer requirements.
Review freight charges, airline rates, trucking costs, handling fees, and other transportation expenses to ensure billing accuracy and cost control.
Prepare customer quotations and analyze transportation options to provide competitive and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Investigate and resolve operational issues including flight delays, cargo discrepancies, customs holds, documentation errors, damaged cargo, and delivery exceptions.
Maintain close communication with customers to understand shipping requirements and provide responsive operational support.
Work closely with overseas offices and global logistics partners to coordinate international transportation and ensure shipment visibility.
Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) related to air import and export operations.
Review and verify vendor invoices, airline charges, trucking costs, customs brokerage fees, warehouse charges, and other logistics-related expenses.
Process customer billing and ensure accurate invoicing based on approved quotations, shipment records, and contractual rates.
Reconcile A/P and A/R transactions, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal accounting teams to resolve billing issues.
Monitor outstanding receivables and support collection activities to ensure timely customer payments.
Perform shipment-level cost and revenue settlement, ensuring all operational expenses and customer charges are accurately recorded.
Review shipment profitability by comparing revenue, cost, and margin and investigate unusual variances.
Support month-end closing activities, including revenue and expense reconciliation, accruals, outstanding A/P and A/R review, and financial settlement of open shipments.
Prepare and review month-end reports to ensure all completed shipments are properly billed, accrued, and financially closed within the accounting period.
Coordinate with the finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal accounting procedures.
Maintain accurate financial and operational records for audit, reporting, and internal control purposes.
Identify billing, cost, and settlement discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Manage multiple time-sensitive shipments simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, financial control, and customer service.
Maintain shipment records, operational reports, financial data, and KPI metrics to support performance monitoring and continuous process improvement.
Support the development and implementation of SOPs and operational procedures for key accounts and international air freight operations.
Analyze operational and financial performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement, and process optimization.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, airlines, customs brokers, trucking providers, warehouses, and overseas partners to support service excellence and operational success.
Ensure adherence to transportation regulations, customs requirements, internal control policies, and operational standards while proactively resolving shipment, documentation, and billing-related issues.
Support departmental initiatives, system enhancements, process optimization efforts, and cross-functional projects that improve operational capabilities, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
